Note: Explaining Some Subject Extensions.

  1. Reading: This is an extension of English language that is designed to mitigate the low reading culture that is not uncommon in our environment. Plus research and experience has proven that vocabulary and mastery of sentence structures and expressions is significantly increased by constant reading.
  2. The Art of Writing: This is also an extension of the study of the English language. I once read through the list of countries with the most published books and did not see an African country on the list until well further down the list. The art of writing is designed to teach students how to structure their thoughts in a coherent manner and invariably encourage them to not just read what others have written, but to learn how to articulate and write down what they think on a constant basis. Also, due to the use of digital tools in teaching all our subjects, the art of writing also comes into play to keep our students grounded on how to use a physical pen as an antique they will also be well skilled at.
  3. Mental Maths: This is a structure of mathematics where calculations are mostly done mentally instead of counting with the finger or on a paper. This is done to gently stretch the brain into greater processing heights.
  4. (Programming and Robotics: Coding and programming = Grade 1-6. Robotics = Grade 3-6.) Programming and Robotics is a subject designed to give our students actionable knowledge with regards being pioneers of technological advancements.
  5. Digital Arts: Digital arts is artistic expressions that is done with digital tools.
  6. Theatrics and Stage Performance(Extracurricular): A research was conducted some years back asking people what they feared most; and to the astonishment of many, fear of public speaking came out on top beating what most people thought would be the fear of death. Of course, it does not mean that if someone went to a funeral and was asked to do the eulogy or replace what was in the casket that they would choose the later; it just points to the fact that the boldness needed to successful interact publicly is lacking in most people. And we know the popular saying that success is (making and keeping) good relationships. Theatrics and stage performance encompasses disciples like debate, choreography, music, dramatics etc; wherein our students will be taught not to allow “self-consciousness” to overstep its productive boundary and cross into a prevalent extreme wherein it suffocates the healthy expressions of oneself.
